Here at Switzerland Innovation Park Central, as the location of Park Zurich, we focus on the building and energy sector and pursue the goal of creating a livable built environment together with our members. In doing so, we attach importance to the well-being of society, a sustainable approach to our environment, and economically successful innovations.

We accelerate the innovation process and offer the following: premises in an inspiring environment, labs with a thematic focus as working vessels, methodological expertise, a digital co-creation platform and exciting events at which members benefit from our national and international ecosystem.

As part of the Switzerland Innovation network, we work together with the Zurich and Ticino Parks to strengthen Switzerland’s national and international appeal in terms of innovation.

VALUES

At Switzerland Innovation Park Central, we live an “open innovation” philosophy. This approach presupposes exchanges, interactions and knowledge transfer, which requires a mutual basis of trust. Our values provide an optimal breeding ground for cross-company, cross-industry and cross-disciplinary collaborations. This is intended to promote an open exchange so that new aspects can be illuminated, discussed and further developed.

MILESTONES

Since the founding of the association in summer 2016, Switzerland Innovation Park Central has evolved from a visionary idea and a small provisional facility into an integral organization for innovation around the built environment. A dedicated project team from business, science and the public sector worked tirelessly to establish the park and moved into a temporary facility at Suurstoffi in spring 2017. Membership jumped from just under a dozen to more than 80 members.

After a successful adoption of the concept and an elaborate site evaluation, the park was transferred to a regular organization in mid-2019 and 1,500 m2 of space could be occupied in the definitive premises. Since March 2021, the park is officially an accredited part of the Switzerland Innovation network and, together with Park Ticino, part of Park Zurich.

SPONSORSHIP

Switzerland Innovation Park Central is a joint initiative of business, science and the public sector. Participants include the six cantons of Central Switzerland, leading companies from the region and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, the NEST, the FH Ost and the CSEM. Of the more than 80 members, a large proportion come from industry – a first in Switzerland.

LOCATION

The Suurstoffi site in the Zug municipality of Risch-Rotkreuz is centrally located. The railway station is in the immediate vicinity and several motorway connections are available. The site is home to several leading international companies and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. In addition to its good accessibility, the site has a high appeal thanks to its modern architecture and forward-looking technical equipment. The aim is to achieve completely CO2-free operation. Switzerland Innovation Park Central, the area serves as a “Living Lab”.
